Hello:
I just want to take a moment to update you on a change in the world of rental DVDs. Warner Home Video has decided to not release theatrical DVDs to libraries and video rental providers until after they have been released on the retail market for 28 days. This means that we will not be able to provide some movies on DVDs to our patrons until almost a month after they are available for purchase. You might get asked why we do not have some newly released titles in our collection when they are available at Amazon, Wal-Mart, etc. The first three movies that will be affected by this are the last movie in the Harry Potter series , Hangover II, and Crazy Stupid Love. If I become aware of any more hot releases that will have this embargo, I will let you know so that you can explain what is happening to patrons if they have questions. The good news is that it will not affect most of the DVD new releases we receive per year. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Marianne Lorio
