Just a quick reminder concerning customer registration
BEFORE we begin the registration process for every customer verify that patron does not already have an account in the III Database.
Verify patron name with current identification to search for name duplication/ previous record:
· Choose the circulation desk icon
· Choose the search drop down menu to search
· Search both (n) NAME and (u) ALT ID
Once a duplicate check has been completed, and no alt record exists for that customer; you may proceed with creating a new acct. Again PLEASE perform a duplicate check before completing a new registration to ensure that no alt record exists for that customer; then you may proceed with creating a new acct.
If there is a possible duplication, look for matches in address, D-O-B, or phone numbers. Contact Central Circulation (832-393-2222 option 3) to request a signature check or report a duplicate record (with both account numbers).
