Expiration Dates

HI all,

Remember that three years from this month, February 2016, will be the February of a leap year, so library cards created this month should expire on February 29, 2016.

This is a good time to remind everyone that library cards normally should expire on the last day of the month, whether that day is the 28th, 29th, 30th or 31st. Please make sure you are setting them to expire on the correct day. It is important to be consistent, so we can always tell customers that the card expires on the last day of the month.

The major exception is when a customer is to turn 18 within the three years; in that case, it expires on the 18th birthday.

If you are reviewing applications and see an expiration date that is wrong, please correct it and inform the staff member who created the card.
