- CMC
- Combined Municipal Campaign will run from October 1st to 31st. During this time, you can sign up to select which causes you would like to support.
- There will be an online auction for CMC from October 7th to 18th. Please look for updates.
- HPL's department fund raiser is the Fall Festival, held on the Central Library Plaza on October 31st from 11 to 2.
- HPL has a participation goal of 100 percent.
- (From John: Don is our CMC coordinator).
- Safety campaign
- A systemwide safety campaign begins in January. Always be cautious. HPL has already had three accidents this fiscal year.
- Computer Use Cards
- Please continue to follow HPL policy regarding computer cards. Please do not maintain a "branch" card for customers who do not have their card.
- Sprocket
- Please enter Sprocket requests as promptly as possible. Please let me know if you enter one.
- After hours or on weekends, please use the after hours numbers listed in the phone numbers box on this blog.
- HALAN
- SIRSI logins will be changing. The new ones will start with the three-letter location code (BLU and VIN) instead of "HOU". If you are working at a location outside our group, you would use a substitute login. Please continue to log in as you have been till you hear otherwise.
- Training
- Training is now in the new Organizational Development Division, headed by Ophelia Cespedes, formerly of HR.

- Other things
- The Affordable Care Act is set start registration on October 1st. There is a link from the Library's Web page. We can offer limited help.
- (From John: Monica and Martin in the Multi-Service Center have had Navigator training and can assist customers in greater depth).
- If you have a car accident on City time, you must submit to a drug test.
- Please see me if you have any questions about incident reports.
- HPL will be holding a series of focus groups for our Stategic Master Plan.
- (From John: Blue Ridge will hold one for youth on October 14th and one for adults by invitation on October 15th. Trisha and I will be leading them).
- With Meller's retirement, HMRC Manager Liz Sargent will be Acting Deputy Director for Customer Experience, effective September 30th.
