Deposit Reminders

Hi everyone,

There have been a few issues with the deposit lately that I would like to address:

Only three kids of items are counted in book sale:

• Books and other items in our actual book sale area.
• Earphones.
• Flash drives.

The latter two items are purchased by Neighborhood Libraries Administration out of book sale funds for us to sell.

Bags are not in book sale because HPL actually pays to produce them.

There are two ways to remember this:

• The acronym BEF (Books, Earphones, Flash drives).
• Nothing with an HPL logo is in book sale.

Fines may include:

• Actual fines and fees paid by customers on their accounts.
• HPL bags.
• Replacement card fees.

Also, please be careful not to add cash in the deposit for credit card sales. The register will be short in the morning if you do.

Two staff members are assigned to the deposit. It's probably best, other than offering to make copies, just to let it be a two-person job.

I know everyone is eager to get home at the end of the day, but please take your time and do the deposit right in the evening. If not, the person counting the drawer in the morning will have to correct it. We all make mistakes occasionally, but there will be fewer of them if we all remember these rules.
