Three-Part Telephone Greeting

Hi everyone,

As a reminder, HPL has a standardized telephone greeting to use when we answer the phone:

For example:

1.     Thank the caller for calling the Houston Public Library System.

Thank you for calling the Houston Public Library System.

2.     Follow with the name of your branch/unit.

This is the Stimley-Blue Ridge Neighborhood Library.

This is the Vinson Neighborhood Library.

3.     Offer Assistance.
