All,
Please note this message from Ophelia Cespedes. Everyone is responsible for keeping track of their own time so it does not exceed 40 hours (for full-time non-exempt staff) per week. I know Kronos often has issues, but please do your best to stay on top of this.
Thanks,
John
From Ophelia:
Greetings HPL Employees,
Please see below a few key points to remember regarding Kronos Timekeeping Policy:
• All employees are responsible for reviewing their work schedules and clocking in and out as scheduled.
• Employees are expected to work their scheduled amount of hours. If an employee does not work the full schedule, and is not covered by paid leave (vacation, personal leave, etc.) then the employee will be paid only for the hours actually recorded.
• Any variation outside scheduled work times will be calculated from the actual punch time, which may create compensatory time or overtime and must be approved by the employee’s supervisor prior to the occurrence
• If an employee is granted compensatory time in lieu of overtime, that time must be used within 120 days
• Compensatory time should not be accrued for personal reasons or to “bank” time to take off later. It must be accrued based on business needs.
Additionally:
• Supervisors must monitor compensatory time to ensure:
o It was accrued with prior approval
o It was approved based on the needs of the business unit
o It is taken within 120 days
o It is not taken at times that would negatively impact services
