In the near future, we will be moving our Integrated Library System (ILS), which is the basis for our catalog and circulation system, from III’s Millennium software to SirsiDynix’s Symphony software. More information about this change is available from a link called “HALAN ILS Migration News” on the upper right corner of our Intranet page.
Our goal is to make the transition as smooth as possible for both customers and staff. Staff training is scheduled to begin in mid-May but the first step in this process is to make sure we have current, up-to-date contact information for our customers. To that end:
· We will be adding a message that will appear when someone logs in to their library account asking them to update their information.
· We will follow up with emails, blog postings, messages via social media and other communication about the upcoming changes.
Please be prepared for an increase in customer requests to verify their account information and be pro-active by alerting customers to the upcoming change and offering to update any information as needed.
