Severe Weather Alert

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a New Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Harris County until 03:15 AM Friday. AT 226 AM CDT, Doppler Radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing quarter size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. This storm was located near Galena Park and moving to the Northeast at 25 mph.
Due to a consistent pattern that is expected with the weather system bringing warm gulf moisture associated with an advancing cold-front across the region, the pattern is expected to continue over today (Friday) and tomorrow (Saturday) with production of severe thunderstorms increase threat of flash flooding conditions.
You should continue to monitor severe weather threat and take immediate cover if necessary until threat passes. Significant amounts of isolated rainfall, lightening, hail, and high wind gusts are possible, resulting in flash flooding and damaging affects of severe weather. Do not attempt to drive through flooded roadways or areas where conditions and depth cannot be determined.
