The Great Migration

Here is the latest info I have on the great migration:

We go off line over the 4^th of July Holiday
(July 3^rd is the last day of Millenium)

Many of our functions/Tasks will be affected during this time
                              (July 5^th – 13^th)

Some service will not be available

                Self –Check

                No Holds to be captured/fulfilled (no Title/Item page slips)

                No Fines can be accepted using Sirsi-Offline

                Serials (6/19 Last day to create item records)

                Discards (6/19 Last day to delete item records)

It is unclear (still in development) how the Migration process will affect

                Hold Shelf

                Laptop Circulation
                Computer card registration

                SMM
 Things we can still do with Sirsi Offline Circulation

                Library card registrations

                Check-In & Out 

                Computer Reservations

All-Circ & Sirsi-Offline

                DVDs will have to be checked out manually.

                There are some options with how we deal with the DVDs, 

                  (whatever we do decide should be agreed upon as a team.)

Training for the new procedures will begin just after Memorial Day and run intensively throughout the month of June and continue on a regular basis thereafter. Training material will also be available on the Staff Training Portal, and Communications Dept is in the process of to developing a FAQ’s to assist staff in providing clear explanations about the changes and what services will be affected.
