First, remember, if you are interested in applying for one of the open positions, they close Tuesday, October 21st. You cannot get your application in after that.
Second, door count is this week. Please note the following from Steve Hill:
Door count is a process where we count two things: 1. Visitors on an hourly basis and 2, All In-house reference and circulating materials use on a daily basis.
Door Count is important because the results show us when our libraries are used the most and this information is used to help in decision making about services, staffing, and capital improvements. Thus, accurate door count information is vital!
Third, early voting starts this week, running until October 31st. For virtually all our customers who live in Harris County, the nearest early voting location will be the Hiram Clarke Multi-Service Center. If are a registered voter in Harris county and are working at Vinson, you may walk across the hall to vote before or after your shift, during your break, or at lunchtime. More information on early voting in Harris County may be found here.
For early voting information for voters registered in Fort Bend County, please click here. For those in Brazoria County, please click here.
Remember that voters must present ID to vote. If they miss early voting, they must vote in their precinct on Election Day.
Thanks!
John
