Greetings,

I hope that you are all well in this new year!  I wanted to send a quick email to let you know how excited I am about working with you all as the System-wide Training Coordinator. My goal in this position is to develop a training program that is fun, beneficial, and meets the needs and interests of those that represent the backbone of this organization – our staff. It will be my job to provide training opportunities that will help you do what you already do just a little bit easier – that is, provide the best customer service around!!
 

Leilany Vazquez, Administrative Assistant for the Training Team, is now reporting to me.  Thuy Vo, Librarian II, is also reporting to me and will focus on training opportunities relative to technology instruction.  Other staff members from Public Services are also assisting me on a part-time basis: Djuina Hammett, Sarah Ortiz and Daniel Pillow.  I plan to also ask other staff members for assistance on an as needed basis. If you are interested, please get approval from your supervisor and let me know!
 

If you have any ideas for trainings, have a particular training need, or come across a great training opportunity, please do not hesitate to forward them to the Training Team at  hpltraining@houstontx.gov .  Any requests for training, training reports, or other training-related information should be sent to this email address.  Due to tracking issues, we will no longer accept requests via phone, in-person, or by other means moving forward. 

Additionally, please remember to send Leilany a copy (electronically via email or printed through delivery) of your certificates after you have taken training that can be counted towards your training requirement for the EPE cycle.  Please include your employee number on the certificate or in the email as well.
