I wanted to clarify the issue of temperature in the buildings. We’ve had a few closures due to lack of AC lately and I want to make sure everyone understands the procedures.

I wanted to clarify the issue of temperature in the buildings. We’ve had a few closures due to lack of AC lately and I want to make sure everyone understands the procedures.
The temperature of the building should always be in the 72F to 76F range.
If it gets above 76F, please report it in a Sprocket immediately. If it is late in the day or on Saturday, please call the after-hours number, 866-635-1395, as well. This number is linked on the blog under “After Hours Numbers” in the “Staff Links” box. Please let me know when you have done this.
When the temperature hits 80F, we close to the public, but only the Group Manager or Neighborhood Libraries Administration can authorize it. Please let me know immediately when it hits 80F. I will relay that we are closing the location to Neighborhood Libraries Administration. If I am not in that day, please let the senior person in the grouping (this will usually be Maggie, but could be someone else. Please consult the daily schedule and the “Who’s in Charge?” list on the blog if you are unsure) know and call NL Admin at 32707 or Laurie Covington at 31367. Laurie or someone else in NL Admin can authorize the closing.
